Welcome to the Santa Monica Mounted Posse. It is my great pleasure to introduce you to our Unit and to share with you the functions of our troop. We are the oldest mounted unit in the state of California. Established in 1930, we are honored to carry this great city’s name and wear its badge. We have long served the city of Santa Monica by helping to create a positive presence in the community through our activities with man’s best friend the horse.

Group camp trips are an important part of our horse training and fellowship.
The troop raises money for charity and donates to Santa Monica Civic organizations
Community outreach through shared interest in horsemanship.
